BIRTHDAY CAKE AND TREADMILLS

Cake and treadmills. What's the correlation, u ask? What's better than eating a monstrous piece of cake while simultaneously running on the treadmill to burn those calories? Well, my friend Jana made it happen. Below is proof!
My very dear friend Jana celebrated a big birthday this week! Big birthdays call for big cakes! I attempted to be super creative with this cake by making both yellow and devils food cakes for the layers and using vanilla buttercream and Nutella as the fillings. For the yellow cake, I used Billy's Vanilla Vanilla recipe found here and for the devils food cake I used David Lebowitz's recipe found here. Both of these recipes have once again been delicious, time after time. After making the vanilla buttercream I realized I was out of cocoa powder. Now what? As I rifled through my pantry I found an unopened jar of Nutella. I used this to fill two of the layers. I've never used Nutella as a filling, although I have used it when making Nutella Swiss Merengue Buttercream when I made another birthday cake, here. The Nutella filling turned out great, who would have thought? Everyone loved the cake and it could have easily fed 25 people as it was several layers high! I crumbled one of the chocolate layers and stuck them along the edges of the cake. This hid all the imperfections =)
