Although I'm a lover of malted milk balls, this recipe just didn't do it for me. Was it chocolaty? Sure. Was it chewy and soft? Most definitely. However, something about this recipe's final product just didn't reach my expectations! I guess I was expecting something more fudgy and gooey and instead I found them to be super dense and a tad bit dry. I went ahead and decided to be creative by replacing the malted milk powder with New York's own, Serendipity's Frozen Hot Chocolate powder mix. I felt like I was eating hot chocolate cookies!
I'm looking forward to next week's recipe: Chocolate Chunkers.
Cliff note: Chris-next week's recipe makes me think of your face.
sorry you didn't love them, but using the hot choc mix sounds tasty!! great job :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, this one didn't do it for me, either. I'll be glad when we leave the cookies behind for a while. ;)
ReplyDeleteAw, sorry you didn't care for these. They look great though!
ReplyDeleteLove the idea to use hot chocolate mix! Sounds great! Sorry you didn't love them... I wans't such a fan either!
ReplyDeleteThey still came out beautiful even though you didn't care for them! Good job....I think?
ReplyDeleteI definitely liked them better than I was expecting because I underbaked them by a minute or two. That way they were still dense, but not dry at all - just really fudgey.
ReplyDeleteOh the frozen hot chocolate mix is so good! Sorry you didn't care for them but they look delish!
ReplyDeleteI didn't care for them either!
ReplyDeleteI found these were fudgy and brownie-like if you underbaked them a tad. Maybe these weren't for everyone. Anyways, your cookies look delicious to me!
ReplyDeleteThat hot chocolate mix does sound tasty!
ReplyDeleteSorry you didn't love them! I sure did! ;) Good job on the cookies though.
ReplyDeleteSorry you didn't like them! I underbaked mine a little, too, and they were pretty good.
ReplyDeleteSorry you didn't love 'em as much as we did. Send them my way.
